About us
A decade in e-commerce. Built for Shopify.
We spent years building merchant tools for Magento. Then we made a clean break, rebuilt everything from scratch, and went all-in on Shopify. Best decision we ever made.
Get in touchWe've been here before.
Before Gift Card Hero existed, our founders ran a software company that built gift card and loyalty tools for Magento merchants. We did that for years. We learned what merchants actually need, where SaaS products fail them, and why most commerce software is overengineered complexity hiding behind a pricing page.
When Shopify took over the world, we made a deliberate choice: shut it down, take everything we knew, and rebuild for the platform that actually deserved it. No porting legacy code. No compromise. Just a clean product, designed specifically for the way Shopify merchants work in 2026.
Today we operate out of Paphos, Cyprus - a sun-drenched city on the Mediterranean that has quietly become one of Europe's most interesting tech hubs. Small team, zero outside funding, and a single obsession: making the best gift card software on Shopify.
How we got here
Started building gift card and loyalty tools for Magento merchants. Hard-earned lessons about what e-commerce software actually needs to be.
Shut down the old company and started fresh. Gift Card Hero was built from scratch, exclusively for Shopify - no legacy baggage.
Gift Card Hero, live on the Shopify App Store since August 2021, added physical gift cards, balance top-ups and a balance checker.
15,000+ stores have installed our apps and over $100M in gift cards has been issued with Gift Card Hero. Built for Shopify. Headquartered in Paphos, Cyprus. Bootstrapped, profitable, and focused entirely on Shopify.

What we believe
Earned expertise
Ten years and two platforms worth of battle scars. We've made the mistakes so you don't have to.
Shopify, full stop
We work exclusively in the Shopify ecosystem. Deep focus beats shallow breadth every time.
Small by choice
A lean team means faster decisions, no bureaucracy, and software built by people who genuinely care.
Bootstrapped forever
No investors, no pressure to cut corners. Our only obligation is to the merchants who use our products.
