Growth
Rewards that can turn one-time buyers into repeat customers
Customers buy once and go quiet, and the next discount only teaches them to wait for a code. Growth pays a reward instead: cashback, spend goals and come-back bonuses, paid as gift card balance that can only be spent in your store. Included on every Gift Card Hero plan.

Growth is the rewards part of Gift Card Hero, a Shopify gift card app: 20 ready-made reward mechanics across six goals, each an editable workflow. Pick a goal and turn a mechanic on. Every mechanic starts with example amounts you can change.
Gift cards sit unsold, and every big weekend needs another discount
A gift card doesn't sell itself. A bonus gives people a reason to buy or reload one, and a reward weekend gives them a reason to order without marking down your products.
Gift card bonus
$15 on gift cards of $100 or more
Goes to the buyer's rewards balance, not onto the card or to the recipient.
Reload bonus
$5 on reloads of $50 or more
Needs Storefront reload turned on.
Bonus cashback weekend
5% extra, Friday to Monday
Stacks with your other rewards.
Earn now, spend later
$10 seven days after an order of $50 or more, in a 4-day campaign. Valid for 30 days
No message or storefront promotion comes with it.
Small orders that could have been bigger
Shoppers stop adding to the cart when nothing asks them to go on. A reward for reaching an amount or adding an item gives them a goal, and that can lead to bigger orders.
Spend goal reward
$10 on orders of $100 or more
A flat amount on every such order, whatever its size.
Reward ladder
$5, $15 and $40 at $100, $250 and $500 spent in 30 days
The 30 days start with the customer's first order.
Multi-item bonus
$5 on orders of 3 or more items
Counts total quantity, so 3 of one product count as 3.
Cross-sell bonus
$5 for $25 or more from a collection
You choose the collection.
Visitors look around and leave without buying
The first order is the hardest one to get. A bonus on that order or on a new account gives a shopper a reason to start, and a balance to come back to.
First order bonus
$10 on a first order of $50 or more. Valid for 30 days
"First" means before a customer's first reward, so a returning customer who hasn't earned yet qualifies too.
Welcome bonus
$5 for creating an account
Customers you import count as sign-ups too.
Customers buy once and don't come back
A discount code gets one order, and then some customers wait for the next code. A reward on a balance is theirs to spend, which gives them a reason to come back without another sale.
Cashback on every order
5% back, paid as gift card balance
Worked out without shipping, tax and gift cards.
Come-back reward
$10 three days after an order of $50 or more ships. Valid for 21 days
Pays on every shipped order that qualifies, not only the first.
Stamp card
$10 on every 6th order
A card runs for one year from its first stamp.
30-day spend challenge
$40 for $300 spent in 30 days
Your storefront doesn't show customers their progress.
One-time quest
$10 on a first purchase of $50 or more from a collection
You choose the collection. The quest-complete customer tag keeps it to one time.
Good customers go quiet, and you notice too late
These rewards step in when a customer who has earned with you stops ordering, when a reward is about to run out, or on a birthday. They reach customers who go quiet after you turn them on.
Win-back reward
$10 after 60 days without an order. Valid for 14 days
Only for customers who already have a rewards balance.
Last-chance bonus
$2 seven days before a reward expires. Valid for 7 days
Works only if your rewards expire.
Birthday reward
$10 on a customer's birthday
The app doesn't collect birthdays: it needs a customer metafield or a bday:MM-DD tag.
Your best customers get the same as everyone else
Here, loyalty means customer tiers and nothing more. Tiers raise rewards by lifetime spend, with four defaults to start: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum. Spend counts from a customer's first reward.
VIP cashback boost
5% back for the tier you choose
Signed-in customers below the tier see its banner too.
Tier-up bonus
$10 when a customer moves up a tier
Doesn't fire for a customer's first tier.
Shoppers can't aim for a reward they don't know about
Storefront banners and pop-ups show what a shopper can earn while they shop, on the pages you choose.
Nudge cards
Nudge cards show shoppers what they can earn while they shop, such as "$32 away from a $20 reward". Up to five cards. They only tell shoppers about a reward and apply nothing to the cart. Needs the app embed turned on.
A top banner
A top banner shows offers, countdowns and progress toward a reward, across the top of your store.
14 banner templates
14 banner templates, including Goal meter, Countdown and Live receipt. The others are Numeral, Ticket stub, Text only, Image left, Image right, Full bleed, Split 50/50, Member strip, Editorial, Ticker and Peek strip. Goal meter needs a minimum spend, and Countdown needs an end date.
The right moment
Show promotions on every page, or only at the right moment: at a cart amount, on the cart page, after an add to cart, on a collection, on a product from a collection or on one product.
Customers with a tag
Show a promotion only to customers with a Shopify tag. Guests don't see these promotions, and tag names are visible in the page source.
Numbers that match the rule
Link a promotion to a workflow and its reward numbers come straight from the workflow. In a standalone promotion you type the numbers yourself, so check them before you publish.
Rewards cost real money, so you set the budget and the limits
Active mechanics add up, and one order can earn from several at once. Each limit below is yours to set.
How refunds and limits workA budget on every mechanic
Every mechanic starts with a monthly budget you can change: 500 in your store's currency, with the month counted in UTC. A workflow that reaches its budget pauses itself and emails you. The blocked reward isn't issued later. A workflow from Create your own has no budget until you set one.
A cap for your whole store
Set a monthly cap on rewards across your whole store. Off by default.
A cap per customer
Cap how much one customer can earn in a period. Off by default: set both the amount and the period. Over the cap, the reward is skipped and the workflow keeps running.
Spike alerts
Get an email when rewards issued spike above your usual rate. Off until you set a multiplier, and at most one email a day.
Dates you choose
Run a workflow only between the dates you choose. A mechanic's dates are set when you open it, so check them on an old draft.
Refunds take rewards back
Refunds take back rewards in proportion to the refunded amount, and a balance never goes below zero. On by default, and you can turn it off. What the customer already spent isn't returned, sign-up and birthday bonuses stay, and a cancellation without a refund takes nothing back.
Wait until returns are over
Hold a reward until your return window has passed with a Wait / Delay step. A full refund cancels the reward. A partial refund doesn't reduce it.
Test workflow
Test any workflow first: nothing is issued and no message is sent. The button appears after the first save. Send test inside a message step is different: it sends a real email.
Build your own
Build your own workflows from triggers, conditions and actions on a visual canvas, with YES and NO branches. A saved mechanic is an ordinary workflow too, so you can add steps or change the trigger.
See what rewards bring in
See revenue from orders that used rewards and the cash paid on top. These numbers aren't extra sales or profit, and there is no report for order size or repeat purchases.
A control group for promotions
Measure promotions against a control group of visitors who never saw them. Needs at least 300 paid orders in 30 days, and reads best from 1,000. It covers promotions as a whole, not rewards, and only visitors who accepted cookies.
A reward only brings customers back if they know how to spend it
Rewards sit on one balance per customer. Customers need an account to earn and a code to spend.
Money, not points
Rewards are money on a balance, not points: a customer sees $10 and can only spend it in your store. Rewards are issued and held in your store's currency.
A code at checkout
Customers enter their rewards code at checkout, like a gift card. Rewards aren't applied to the cart for them.
Guests don't earn
Guest checkouts don't earn; rewards need a customer account. A Welcome bonus gives shoppers a reason to create one.
In their account
Customers see balance, tier, history and their code in their account. It needs new customer accounts, you add the page to the menu yourself, and the tab is in English.
In store with Shopify POS
Customers can show their rewards code as a QR in their account and spend rewards at Shopify POS with the code or QR.
An expiry, if you want one
Set an expiry on a reward, and customers get a warning seven days before. Cashback doesn't expire.

No. Growth pays rewards as money on a gift card balance: a customer sees $10, not 1,000 points, and can only spend it in your store. In Gift Card Hero, Loyalty is the name of one goal: customer tiers.
Growth is included on every plan, including pay as you go. There is no extra app fee for issuing rewards, and rewards don't count toward the 2% pay-as-you-go charge. You pay for the rewards themselves.
A discount lowers the price of this order. A reward adds balance for a later order, and it costs you money when the customer spends it.
In their account they see their balance and their rewards code, and they enter the code at checkout, in the gift card field. Rewards are not applied to the cart automatically. Guest checkouts don't earn: rewards need a customer account.
Yes. Customers can spend rewards at Shopify POS with their code or the QR in their account.
By default the reward is taken back in proportion to the refunded amount, and a balance never goes below zero. What the customer already spent isn't returned, and sign-up and birthday bonuses stay. You can turn this off, or add a Wait / Delay step so a reward is paid only after your return window.
Every mechanic starts with a monthly budget, and a workflow that reaches it pauses itself and emails you. You can also set a monthly cap for the whole store and a cap per customer, both off by default. Active mechanics add up, so one order can earn from several.
You see revenue from orders that used rewards, the cash paid on top and revenue linked to promotions. These numbers aren't extra sales or profit, and Growth doesn't report order size or repeat purchases. To compare with visitors who saw no promotions, turn on a control group: it needs at least 300 paid orders in 30 days.
Yes, if the workflow has a message step. Send reward emails with four ready templates, editable per workflow, or send a Klaviyo event from any workflow to trigger your own Klaviyo flow.
