A gift worth giving.
A bare code doesn't feel like a present. Gift Card Hero gives buyers a card in your brand, their own message and the exact moment it lands. eGift or physical, online or at the counter, on Shopify's own gift cards.

Works with any POS.
Your register stays. Gift Hero POS runs on any phone or tablet next to it, so staff scan a card, redeem it and take what's left the usual way. Every balance lands in Shopify in real time, and customers see the same number online.2

Square, Clover, Lightspeed, Zettle, SumUp, Toast and more. And any other register.
Point the camera at the QR code or barcode and the card opens. Or type the code.

Enter the order total. Gift Hero POS shows what the card covers and what's left to charge on your register.

Pick an amount, a design and a message. The customer pays at your till, and the card is issued in Shopify.

Print an A4 sheet with your logo, the card, the code and a QR, in any of five languages.

Each person gets their own account and 4-digit PIN. Every sale and redemption lands in a log you can export.

It installs from the browser, with its own icon and no browser bars. No app store, no new hardware.
Check balances, reload cards, register printed cards and refund returns to a gift card, without leaving the sale.
Gift Card Hero for Shopify POS

Today's order earns the next one.
A discount ends at checkout and teaches shoppers to wait for the next code. Growth keeps today's price and puts money on a balance they can only spend with you. 20 ready-made rewards for revenue, average order value, conversion and retention. Included on every plan.3
Next time, they wait for a code.
Next time, they have $10 to spend with you.
Sample amounts. A reward costs you when it's spent, so every mechanic starts with a monthly budget.
Take a closer look.
Pick what you want to improve, then click around. You see what shoppers see, and what runs in your admin.
A goal meter shows how far the cart is from $10 in rewards. One more item and it unlocks.
Example store, sample amounts.
Rewards are real money. So you hold the keys.
Every mechanic starts with one. A workflow that reaches it pauses itself and emails you.
Limit what one customer can earn, and set a monthly cap for the whole store.
When an order is refunded, its reward is taken back in proportion.
Run any workflow first. Nothing is issued and no message goes out.
Revenue from orders that used rewards and the cash customers paid on top. Storefront promotions can be measured against a control group from 300 paid orders in 30 days.
What do you want to improve?
Room for bigger gifts.
Shopify's default limit is $2,000 a card. One setting raises it to $10,000, for reloads and for cards you issue in the admin. Customers top up on your storefront, staff in Shopify POS, and you can adjust any balance with a note.4
Now they know what's left.
Someone who pays with a gift card walks away not knowing the balance. Now they hear from you after the purchase, with the amount, what's left and the branch, just like a bank. It can cut “how much is left?” emails, and it's one more reason to come back.5

Gift Card Hero is a Shopify app by Syncube for selling eGift and physical gift cards, online, in Shopify POS and next to any other register. It also includes Growth: 20 ready-made rewards paid as gift card balance. It carries the Built for Shopify badge and is rated 4.9 from 180 reviews on the Shopify App Store.
Yes. Gift Hero POS is a web app that runs on any phone or tablet next to your register. Staff check, redeem, sell and activate Shopify gift cards there, then take what's left on the register as a normal payment. It doesn't connect to the register itself, and it needs an internet connection.
If you only need a plain digital card, Shopify's built-in gift cards may be enough. Gift Card Hero adds your own designs in the buying flow, delivery at a chosen date and time, video greetings, reloads at POS and rewards. We compare both in built-in gift cards vs an app.
Yes. Shopify's default limit is $2,000 per card. Gift Card Hero can raise it to $10,000 or the equivalent in your currency, for reloads, for cards issued in the admin and for CSV imports, and you can set it back at any time.
Yes. Turn on redemption notifications and the card holder, the buyer or both hear what was spent, what's left and at which branch. They cover purchases online and in Shopify POS, not redemptions in Gift Hero POS. You can also hand them to your own Klaviyo flow.
Turn on Spend goal reward and pick the amount: by default, an order of $100 or more earns $10. The reward goes to the customer's rewards balance rather than a separate gift card, and a goal meter can show shoppers how close they are.
No points. Rewards are money on a balance: a customer sees $10 and spends it in your store. In the app, Loyalty is only one goal, and it means customer tiers.
A discount lowers the price of this order. A reward keeps the price and adds balance for a later order, so it costs you when the customer comes back and spends it.
Free to install, then 2% of gift card value with a $9.99 minimum and $49.99 maximum a month. PRO is $19.99 a month, and Shopify Plus stores pay $39.99. Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial and includes Growth. There are no per-order fees and no extra app fee for issuing rewards; you pay for the rewards your customers spend.pricing
Every mechanic starts with a monthly budget of 500 in your store's currency, and a workflow that reaches it pauses itself and emails you. You can also set a monthly cap for the whole store and a cap per customer; both are off until you turn them on. Active mechanics add up, so one order can earn from several.
By default, the reward is taken back in proportion to the refunded amount, and a balance never goes below zero. Rewards a customer has already spent can't be taken back, and sign-up and birthday bonuses aren't reversed. You can turn this off.
Rewards are spent like a gift card, in the gift card field at checkout, so they follow the same rules as any Shopify gift card.
Each customer has one rewards balance. They copy their code from the Rewards tab in their account and enter it at checkout, like a gift card. The balance isn't applied automatically, and orders placed without a customer account don't earn rewards.
The balance sits on a normal Shopify gift card, so customers can spend it at Shopify POS with their code or the QR code in their account.
Yes. Gift Card Hero issues native Shopify gift cards, so cards stay valid if you uninstall. The app's widgets, emails and the Rewards tab go away with it.
It works through a Shopify theme app extension, so it fits your existing theme without editing theme code. You choose the designs and can add your own CSS.
Growth shows revenue from orders that used rewards and the cash customers paid on top. Storefront promotions can be measured against a control group from 300 paid orders in 30 days. It doesn't report average order value or repeat rate, and none of these figures are profit.
